He held an important position in Arabic medicine. Pliny and Dioscurides mention many species of roses in their works. Rose water is an old medicine and in the 16th century they made a flowerbed. In the Roman era, they used to be the rosebush, the fruit of the rosebush for bitten dogs. Until the 1930s, official pharmaceuticals used roses, giving them tincture for irritated throats. Today roses are considered even more valuable. The oil used in perfumery is extremely expensive. To produce one liter of it requires 4,000 kg of fresh petals. In Ayurvedic medicine they consider roses to be refreshing and stimulating to the mind.
It acts as an antidepressant, spasmolytic, aphrodisiac, sedative, gall bladder, antibacterial, antiviral, antiseptic, kidney and blood tonic, periodic regulator and anti-inflammatory.
